After more than a decade in Buxton, Cobalt Energy has officially relocated to a new office at Applicon House in Stockport, marking an exciting milestone in the company’s continued growth.
Buxton was home since 2012 and played a huge role in our journey, supporting our growth from the early years into the business we are today. We have evolved from a small band of engineers into a firm of over 200 employees, operating across five O&M sites, working alongside a dedicated and growing technical department and specialist projects team.
This move marks an exciting milestone and reflects how far we’ve come.
The new office has been designed to a high standard, offering modern facilities including air conditioning, a fitted kitchen and breakout space, meeting booths, a large boardroom, and dedicated meeting rooms. The building also provides 24/7 access, high-speed internet, renewable electricity, on-site parking, a secure bike hub, and strong on-site management support.
Applicon House is ideally located for travel and connectivity. Stockport’s mainline railway station is just a five-minute walk away, with quick access by road to the A6 and M60 motorway network, and Manchester Airport approximately 15 minutes by car.
Since moving into the new space, thanks to a brilliant idea from the Sustainability team, everyone arriving to the new office by public transport (bus, bike, train etc) had the chance to enter a raffle to win a £100 Amazon voucher! Every eco-friendly visit = one entry. The lucky winners were announced as Claire Bailey and Dan Parkes!
The move was also marked by a successful team-building day led by the Technical Department, with support from Business Development. The day was packed with energy, fun games and inspiring presentations, finishing with a celebratory meal at a nearby restaurant.
Cobalt continues to deliver practical, engineered solutions to complex challenges, focused on creating long-term value for clients and promoting sustainability. Every client challenge is an opportunity to innovate, collaborate, and deliver solutions that make a lasting impact.
